As a wedding planner, your number one job is to arrange a beautiful wedding so that the bride and groom have the best day of their life! Your involvement could start as early as the engagement stage and you’ll be managing all the steps in between up until the actual honeymoon reservations. You have to advise your clients on everything from etiquette, legal aspects, colour schemes, bridal boutiques and even give them marriage advice! It is therefore critical to know as much as possible about all kinds of weddings and everything that is involved in it.

Wedding planning is about detail. Oprah Winfrey always says love is in the detail. You are the one doing the planning, budgeting, coordinating, managing, advising, creating and sometimes even baking! You should therefore be organised and know where to get the best deals.

If the couple needs your input, you could be asked to help them choose anything from fabric, ink, venues, music, make-up and so forth. You are the one who needs to guide them through unfamiliar territory. You need to take over the most stressful elements of arranging a weeding and allow them to enjoy every moment and make good memories. Furthermore, you have to learn to guide and influence them in such a way that the wedding is stylish and tasteful but that it still represents their own uniqueness.

It is a privilege to be part of someone’s most memorable day. If you plan properly and handle all mishaps behind the scenes, you allow the couple to focus on their love and commitment and to share that with the people they care for in their lives.

This course will teach you all you need to know about planning and coordinating a wedding. However, we have many other courses that will broaden your skills se even more, so if you are serious about a career in wedding planning, we recommend our related courses within the Events Management category too. Remember, the more you know about all the aspects, the better you equip yourself to give the bride the best possible service.

Most wedding planners work for themselves or as part of a bigger events company. If you decide to start your own business, this course will help you a lot with the skills you need to market your company.
